Bro. Mohan C Lazarus
Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus was brought up according to the staunch religious tradition of his family. The inculcation was such that, he used to have combative arguments with those who spoke about Jesus. His feeble mind could equate Jesus only with Buddha and Gandhi and not more than that. He could not comprehend the Godhood of Jesus. Moreover, the indoctrination that he imbibed had developed detestation toward Jesus and his followers alike!
In his early teen age, he was severely affected by an undeciphered heart ailment. The money consuming diverse medical treatments failed to sweep away the malady; instead, his heart began to bulge out more conspicuously. As a result, his body was paralyzed and he was confined to bed. His days were begun to be numbered.
His parents prayed to every god and goddess with various vows and pledges except Jesus Christ as this very name was anathema to them. The days were passing by and his health was deteriorating day by day.
At this precarious scenario, God sent a person to counter with him. His parents did not oppose this man’s move; for, inwardly they expected their son’s cure eagerly! Even as he prayed the power of God descended upon the sick boy and after the prayer, the boy slowly got up and sat on his bed.
He realized the unfathomed compassion of the Light of God and Jesus Christ became his LORD and Savior. Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus has inspired millions of people through His uncompromising message of God’s love. The Lord has used him to minister among huge multitudes of people and many with broken hearts have been blessed and delivered from their sickness, pain and sins. His passion for Prayer shakes the Nations and his zeal for souls is incomparable.
This has resulted in the sprouting of this multifaceted Ministry.
Jesus Redeems Ministries
Though Christianity triumphantly landed in India via one of the South Indian Ports on 69 AD, the advent of salvational joy practically ventured into the hearts of the Tamil speaking South Indians only when the selfless missionaries maneuvered in this southern tip from the middle of the 18th Century AD.
In this situation, our LORD had a very specific purpose to have the genesis of our Jesus Redeems Ministry as a small Prayer Group in a very interior small hamlet – Nalumavadi on 2nd October 1978 while our Nation celebrated the 109th Birth Anniversary of the Father of our Nation – Mahatma Gandhi, who, as was percept widely, redeemed our Nation from the wretched bondage of the alien rule. Now our Jesus Redeems Ministry guides the people those who are under the miserable servitude of sin, in the path where their glorious redemption by the precious blood of Calvary awaits.
As the Scripture says in Job 8:7 – “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”, the ministry which was thus started in such a miniscule fashion, by His grace, has now been blossomed as a multifaceted one.
The seed, to start a prayer group to pray exclusively for our Nation, was sowed into the heart of Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus by his Heavenly Master. Do you ever know the power of a seed? Try this.
Take a seed the size of a freckle. Put it under several inches of dirt and soil. Give it enough water, light and fertilizer. Now get ready! A mountain will be moved. It does not matter that the ground is a zillion times the weight of that seed. The seed will push it back.That was what happened here also!
The seed that was put deep into the heart of a simple man, who wholly surrendered himself to the eternal cause of his Mighty Redeemer, is now growing enormously.
Today this Jesus Redeems Ministry, a duly registered body with the Government as a Trust, is being governed by a Trust Board comprising of 11 Trust Members of various walks of life including Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus as the Managing Trustee and has 43 Branches in India and 9 Branches in abroad.
